Since Active Campaign has released some very interesting features & improvements in the last 6 months, we thought it was about time to give you some insights on the biggest releases. We carefully reviewed all of them to analyze the impact on our customers and readers. In this post, we have listed the most important features for Active Campaign administrators and users.
The new & improved email designer is available
Even though the new email builder was released at the end of 2022, ActiveCampaign constantly improved the different features that are accessible. With the new email designer, it will be easier than ever to create branded, high-performing emails & more:
- Create layouts in just a few clicks with structures & containers that you can easily edit, reuse or save for later
- Build the way you want by toggling between HTML & drag-and-drop options
- Choose exactly how you want your email to look like with the many extra styling elements
- Easily use videos within your emails with custom thumbnails, custom play buttons
- Include a countdown timer for your webinar, fair or other event invites
- (Available for Professional & Enterprise) Use advanced features such as conditional content to engage your customers
- Leave typos behind with the spell check that helps you catch your mistakes
Note that when you have created your past templates in the old designer, you must recreate the templates in the new builder before being able to use it with the new interface.
Bringing the power of AI to ActiveCampaign
One of the most exciting new features in ActiveCampaign is the implementation of AI. As you know, the rapid advancement of AI has revolutionized the field of marketing, empowering businesses with insights, personalized customer experiences, and efficient campaign optimization. ActiveCampaign brings the power of AI to its users by implementing different features in the platform itself.

In the coming months, ActiveCampaign will continue to update & improve their AI tool to create even more possibilities. The following items are already on the agenda:

Renewed segment builder
The segment builder, the feature that groups your contacts together by different criteria, is now enhanced with more conditions. You will have, among other things, the ability to make more complex tag & list combinations. This means that you can effortlessly target specific contacts faster.
Account activity stream
If you use ActiveCampaign, you are probably well aware with the “Recent activity” feature on your contacts & deals. Until now, you couldn’t find any data related to accounts here. But worry no more! The release of the Account activity stream enables your sales team to gain a comprehensive understanding of account-related interactions and transactions, facilitating efficient customer relationship nurturing and accelerated deal closures.
- The updated account activity stream offers an overview of:
- Accomplished task activities and their outcomes related to contacts and deals.
- Alterations in account ownership.
- Monitoring of outbound and inbound 1:1 emails through integrated CRM emails.
- Tracking of engagement metrics such as email opens and link clicks for the 1:1 emails.
Expanded email sync for contacts
This update ensures that you stay on top of crucial emails even when switching between tools. Any emails associated with your contacts will now be seamlessly synchronized with their corresponding deal and contact records in ActiveCampaign. This simplifies the process of monitoring all communications effectively. Whether the emails are tied to contacts within a deal or those without any associated deals, you’ll have the capability to sync them effortlessly.
Custom reporting available for all plans as add-on
Custom reporting is, as many of you may know, a very valuable feature in ActiveCampaign that was previously only available for the enterprise plan tier. As of recently, custom reporting is accessible for all tiers as an add-on. This feature allows you to create your own reports that can provide you with more specific data of what you need to grow your business. Because of this, you will be able to make better, data-driven decisions.
